"Now, Father, 1glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glorywhich I had2with You before the world was.

"3I have manifested Your name to the menwhom4You gave Me out of the world; they were 5Yours and You gave them to Me, and they have 6kept Your word.

"Now they have come to know that everything You have given Me is from You;

for 7the wordswhich You gave Me 8I have given to them; and they received them and trulyunderstood that 9I cameforth from You, and they believed that 10You sent Me.

"11I ask on their behalf; 12I do not ask on behalf of the world, but of those whom13You have given Me; for 14they are Yours;

and 15allthings that are Mine are Yours, and Yours are Mine; and I have been glorified in them.

"I amnolonger in the world; and yet 16they themselves are in the world, and 17I come to You. 18HolyFather, keep them in Your name, the name 19which You have given Me, that 20they may be oneeven as We are.

"While I was with them, I was keeping them in Your name21which You have given Me; and I guarded them and 22not one of them perished but 23the son of perdition, so that the 24Scripture would be fulfilled.
The Disciples in the World
13"But now25I come to You; and 26thesethings I speak in the worldso that they may have My 27joymadefull in themselves.

"I have given them Your word; and 28the world has hated them, because29they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

"I do not ask You to take them out of the world, but to keep them from 30the evil one.
