"He who speaks from himself1seeks his ownglory; but He who is seeking the glory of the One who sent Him, He is true, and there is nounrighteousness in Him.

"2Did not Mosesgive you the Law, and yet none of you carries out the Law? Why do you 3seek to kill Me?"

The crowdanswered, "4You have a demon! Whoseeks to kill You?"

Jesusanswered them, "I did5onedeed, and you allmarvel.

"For thisreason6Moses has given you circumcision (not because it is from Moses, but from 7the fathers ), and on the Sabbath you circumcise a man.

"8If a manreceivescircumcision on the Sabbathso that the Law of Moses will not be broken, are you angry with Me because I made an entiremanwell on the Sabbath?

"Do not 9judgeaccording to appearance, but judge with righteousjudgment."

Sosome of the people of Jerusalem were saying, "Is this not the man whom they are seeking to kill?

"Look, He is speakingpublicly, and they are sayingnothing to Him. 10The rulers do not reallyknow that this is the Christ, do they?

"However, 11we knowwherethisman is from; but whenever the Christ may come, nooneknowswhere He is from."

ThenJesuscried out in the temple, 12teaching and saying, "13You bothknow Me and knowwhere I am from; and 14I have not come of Myself, but He who sent Me is true, whom you do not know.
