they said to Him, "Teacher, thiswoman has been caught in adultery, in the veryact.

"Now in the Law1Mosescommanded us to stonesuchwomen; whatthen do You say?"

They were sayingthis, 2testing Him, 3so that they might have grounds for accusing Him. But Jesusstoopeddown and with His fingerwrote on the ground.

But when they persisted in asking Him, 4He straightened up, and said to them, "5He who is withoutsin among you, let him be the 6first to throw a stone at her."

When they heard it, they began to go out one by one, beginning with the olderones, and He was leftalone, and the woman, where she was, in the center of the court.

7Straightening up, Jesussaid to her, "Woman, where are they? Did noonecondemn you?"

She said, "Noone, Lord." And Jesussaid, "8I do not condemn you, either. Go. From now on 9sinnomore."]
Jesus Is the Light of the World
12ThenJesusagainspoke to them, saying, "10I am the Light of the world; 11he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life."

So the Phariseessaid to Him, "12You are testifyingaboutYourself; Your testimony is not true."

Jesusanswered and said to them, "13Evenif I testifyaboutMyself, My testimony is true, for I know14where I came from and where I am going; but 15you do not knowwhere I come from orwhere I am going.
