19Remember my affliction and my awandering, the 1wormwood and bitterness.
20Surely2my soulremembers And is 3boweddownwithin me.
21This I recall to my mind, Therefore I have4hope.
The LORD'S5lovingkindnessesbindeednevercease, 6For His compassionsneverfail.
They are new7every morning ; Great is 8Your faithfulness.
"The LORD is my 9portion," says my soul, "Therefore I 10havehope in Him."
The LORD is good to those who 11wait for Him, To the cperson who 12seeks Him.
It is good that he 13waitssilently For the salvation of the LORD.
It is good for a man that he should bear The yoke in his youth.
Let him 14sitalone and be silentSince He has laid it on him.
Let him dput his mouth in the 15dust, Perhapsthere is 16hope.
Let him give his 17cheek to ethe smiter, Let him be filled with reproach.
For the Lord will 18not rejectforever,
For if He causesgrief, Then He will have19compassion According to His abundantlovingkindness.
For He 20does not afflictfwillingly Or grieve the sons of men.
To crushunder His feetAll the prisoners of the gland,
To hdeprive a man of 21justice In the presence of the MostHigh,
To i22defraud a man in his lawsuit - Of these things the Lord does not japprove.
37Who is kthere who speaks and it 23comes to pass, Unless the Lord has commanded it?
Is it not from the mouth of the MostHigh That l24both good and illgoforth ?
39Why should any livingmmortal, or any man, Offer25complaintnin view of his sins ?
Let us 26examine and probe our ways, And let us return to the LORD.
We 27lift up our heartoand handsTowardGod in heaven ;
We have 28transgressed and rebelled, You have 29not pardoned.
You have covered Yourself with 30anger And 31pursued us; You have slain and 32have not spared.
You have 33covered Yourself with a cloudSo that 34noprayer can passthrough.
You have made us mere 35offscouring and refuse In the midst of the peoples.
46All our enemies have 36opened their mouthsagainst us.
4737Panic and pitfall have befallen us, Devastation and destruction ;
My p38eyesrundown with streams of waterBecause of the destruction of the daughter of my people.
My eyespourdown39unceasingly , Withoutstopping,
50Until the LORD40looksdown And sees from heaven.
My eyesbringpain to my soulBecause of all the daughters of my city.
My enemies41withoutcauseHunted me down42like a bird ;
They have silencedqme 43in the pit And have r44placed a stone on me.
54Watersflowed45over my head ; I said, "I am cutoff !"
I 46called on Your name, O LORD, Out of the lowestpit.
You have 47heard my voice, "48Do not hide Your ear from my prayer for relief, From my cry for help."
You 49drewnearwhen I called on You; You said, "50Do not fear !"
O Lord, You 51have pleaded my soul'scause ; You have 52redeemed my life.
O LORD, You have 53seen my oppression ; 54Judge my case.
You have seenall their vengeance, All their 55schemes against me.
You have heard their 56reproach, O LORD, All their schemesagainst me.
The 57lips of my assailants and their whispering Are against me allday long.
63Look on their 58sitting and their rising ; 59I am their mockingsong.
You will 60recompense them, O LORD, According to the work of their hands.
You will give them s61hardness of heart, Your curse will be on them.
You will 62pursue them in anger and destroy them From under the 63heavens of the LORD !
