33"But a 1Samaritan, who was on a journey, came upon him; and when he saw him, he feltcompassion,34and came to him and bandaged up his wounds, pouringoil and wine on them; and he put him on his ownbeast, and brought him to an inn and tookcare of him.35"On the nextday he took out twoadenarii and gave them to the innkeeper and said, 'Takecare of him; and whatevermore you spend, when I return I will repay you.'36"Which of thesethree do you thinkproved to be a neighbor to the man who fell into the robbers' hands?"37
And he said, "The one who showedmercytoward him." ThenJesussaid to him, "Go and dobthe same."
38Now as they were traveling along, He entered a village ; and a womannamed2Marthawelcomed Him into her home.

She had a sistercalled3Mary, who was 4seated at the Lord'sfeet, listening to His word.

But 5Martha was distracted with call her preparations ; and she came up to Him and said, "Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to do all the servingalone ? Thentell her to help me."

But the Lordanswered and said to her, "6Martha, Martha, you are 7worried and botheredabout so manythings ;428but only onething is necessary, for 9Mary has chosen the goodpart, which shall not be takenaway from her."
