"When they bring you before1the synagogues and the rulers and the authorities, do not 2worry about howorwhat you are to speak in your defense, orwhat you are to say;

for 3the HolySpirit will teach you in that veryhourwhat you ought to say."
Covetousness Denounced
13Someone in the crowdsaid to Him, "Teacher, tell my brother to divide the family inheritance with me."

But He said to him, "4Man, whoappointed Me a judgeorarbitratorover you?"

Then He said to them, "5Beware, and be on your guardagainsteveryform of greed; for not even whenonehas an abundance does his lifeconsist of his possessions."

And He told them a parable, saying, "The land of a richman was veryproductive.

"And he began reasoning to himself, saying, 'What shall I do, since I havenoplace to store my crops?'

"Then he said, 'This is what I will do: I will teardown my barns and buildlargerones, and there I will storeall my grain and my goods.

'And I will say to my soul, "Soul, 6you havemanygoodslaid up for manyyears to come; take your ease, eat, drink and be merry."'

"But Godsaid to him, '7You fool! This very night8your soul is required of you; and 9now who will own what you have prepared?'

"So is the man who 10stores up treasure for himself, and is not richtowardGod."
