13Someoneain the crowdsaid to Him, "Teacher, tell my brother to divide the family inheritance with me."
But He said to him, "2Man, whoappointed Me a judgeorarbitratorover you?"15Then He said to them, "3Beware, and be on your guardagainsteveryform of greed; for not even whenonehas an abundance does his lifeconsist of his possessions."16
And He told them a parable, saying, "The land of a richman was veryproductive.17"And he began reasoning to himself, saying, 'What shall I do, since I havenoplace to store my crops?'18"Then he said, 'This is what I will do: I will teardown my barns and buildlargerones, and there I will storeall my grain and my goods.19'And I will say to my soul, "Soul, 4you havemanygoodslaid up for manyyears to come; take your ease, eat, drink and be merry."'20"But Godsaid to him, '5You fool! This very nightb6your soul is required of you; and 7now who will own what you have prepared?'21"So is the man who 8stores up treasure for himself, and is not richtowardGod."22
And He said to His disciples, "9For thisreason I say to you, cdo not worryabout your dlife, as to what you will eat; nor for your body, as to what you will put on.
