"1But there is nothingcovered up that will not be revealed, and hidden that will not be known.

"Accordingly, whatever you have said in the dark will be heard in the light, and what you have whispered** in the innerrooms will be proclaimed upon 2the housetops.

"I say to you, 3My friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body and after that haveno*more that they can do.

"But I will warn you whom to fear: 4fear the One who, after He has killed, hasauthority to cast into 5hell; yes, I tell you, fear Him!

"Are not 6fivesparrowssold for twocents? Yet not one of them is forgottenbeforeGod.

"7Indeed*, the veryhairs of your head are allnumbered. Do not fear; you are morevaluable than manysparrows.

"And I say to you, everyonewho8confesses Me beforemen, the Son of Man will confess him alsobefore the angels of God;
9
but 9he who denies Me beforemen will be denied10before the angels of God.

"11And everyonewhospeaks a wordagainst the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but he who blasphemesagainst the HolySpirit, it will not be forgiven him.

"When they bring you before12the synagogues and the rulers and the authorities, do not 13worry about howorwhat you are to speak in your defense, orwhat you are to say;

for 14the HolySpirit will teach you in that veryhourwhat you ought to say."
