And he said, "Allthesethings I have kept from my youth."

When Jesusheard this, He said to him, "Onething you stilllack; 1sellall that you possess and distribute it to the poor, and you shall have2treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me."

But when he had heardthesethings, he becameverysad, for he was extremelyrich.

And Jesuslooked at him and said, "3Howhard it is for those who are wealthy to enter the kingdom of God!

"For 4it is easier for a camel to gothrough the eye of a needlethan for a richman to enter the kingdom of God."

But He said, "5The things that are impossible with people are possible with God."

Petersaid, "Behold, 6we have left our own homes and followed You."

And He said to them, "Truly I say to you, 7there is noonewho has lefthouseorwifeorbrothersorparentsorchildren, for the sake of the kingdom of God,
30
who will not receivemanytimes as much at thistime and in 8the age to come, eternallife."

9Then He took the twelveaside and said to them, "Behold, 10we are going up to Jerusalem, and 11allthings which are writtenthrough the prophets about the Son of Man will be accomplished.
