"1For He will be handed over to the Gentiles, and will be mocked and mistreated and spit upon,

and after they have scourged Him, they will kill Him; and the thirdday He will riseagain."

But 2the disciples understoodnone of thesethings, and the meaning of thisstatement was hidden from them, and they did not comprehend the things that were said.

Nowhearing a crowdgoing by, he began to inquirewhatthis was.

They told him that Jesus of Nazareth was passing by.

And he called out, saying, "Jesus, 5Son of David, havemercy on me!"

Those who led the way were sternlytelling him to be quiet; but he kept crying out all the more, "6Son of David, havemercy on me!"

And Jesusstopped and commanded that he be brought to Him; and when he camenear, He questioned him,

"What do you want Me to do for you?" And he said, "Lord, I want to regain my sight!"

And Jesussaid to him, "Receive your sight; 7your faith has made you well."
