"For indeed, the Son of Man is going1as it has been determined; but woe to that man by whom He is betrayed!"

And they began to discussamongthemselveswhich one of them it might be who was going to dothisthing.
Who Is Greatest
24 And there arosealso2a disputeamong them as to which one of them was regarded to be greatest.

3And He said to them, "The kings of the Gentileslord it over them; and those who haveauthorityover them are called'Benefactors.'

"But it is not thisway with you, 4but the one who is the greatestamong you must becomelike5the youngest, and the leaderlike the servant.

"For 6who is greater, the one who reclines at the table or the one who serves? Is it not the one who reclines at the table? But 7I amamong* you as the one who serves.

"You are those who have stood by Me in My 8trials;

and just as My Fatherhasgranted Me a 9kingdom, I grant you
30
that you may 10eat and drink at My table in My 11kingdom, and 12you will sit on thronesjudging the twelvetribes of Israel.

"Simon, Simon, behold, 13Satanhasdemanded permission to 14sift you likewheat;

but I 15have prayed for you, that your faith may not fail; and you, whenonce you have turnedagain, 16strengthen your brothers."
