But Jesus was saying, "1Father, forgive them; for they do not knowwhat they are doing."2And they castlots, dividing up His garmentsamong themselves.

And the peoplestood by, looking on. And even the 3rulers were sneering at Him, saying, "He savedothers; 4let Him saveHimselfifthis is the Christ of God, His ChosenOne."

The soldiersalsomocked Him, coming up to Him, 5offering Him sourwine

and saying, "6If You are the King of the Jews, saveYourself!"

Now there was also an inscriptionabove Him, "7THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.

8One of the criminals who were hanged there was hurlingabuse at Him, saying, "Are You not the Christ? 9SaveYourself and us!"

But the otheranswered, and rebuking him said, "Do you not evenfearGod, since you are under the samesentence of condemnation?

"And we indeed are suffering justly, for we are receivingwhat we deserve for our deeds*; but thisman has donenothingwrong."

And he was saying, "Jesus, remember me when You come in Your kingdom!"

And He said to him, "Truly I say to you, today you shall be with Me in 10Paradise."

11It was nowabout12the sixthhour, and darknessfellover the wholelanduntil the ninthhour,
