Thenbeginning with 1Moses and with all the 2prophets, He explained to them the things concerningHimself in all the Scriptures.

And they approached the villagewhere they were going, and 3He acted as though He were goingfarther.

But they urged Him, saying, "Stay with us, for it is getting towardevening, and the day is nownearlyover." So He went in to stay with them.
30
When He had reclined at the table with them, He took the bread and 4blessed it, and breaking it, He began giving it to them.

Then their 5eyes were opened and they recognized Him; and He vanished from their sight.

They said to oneanother, "Were not our heartsburningwithin us while He was speaking to us on the road, while He 6was explaining the Scriptures to us?"

And they got up that veryhour and returned to Jerusalem, and 7foundgatheredtogether the eleven and 8thosewho were with them,

saying, "9The Lord has reallyrisen and 10has appeared to Simon."

They began to relate their experiences on the road and how11He was recognized by them in the breaking of the bread.
