Luke 4:10-20

for it is written, '1HE WILL COMMAND HIS ANGELS CONCERNING YOU TO GUARD YOU,'
and, '2ON their HANDS THEY WILL BEAR YOU SO THAT YOU WILL NOT STRIKE YOUR FOOT AGAINST A STONE.' "
And Jesus answered and said to him, "It is said, '3YOU SHALL NOT PUT THE LORD YOUR GOD TO THE TEST.' "
When the devil had finished every temptation, he left Him until an opportune time.

Jesus' Public Ministry

And 4Jesus returned to Galilee in the power of the Spirit, and 5news about Him spread through all the surrounding district.
And He began 6teaching in their synagogues and was praised by all.
And He came to 7Nazareth, where He had been brought up; and as was His custom, 8He entered the synagogue on the Sabbath, and 9stood up to read.
And the book of the prophet Isaiah was handed to Him. And He opened the book and found the place where it was written,
"10THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD IS UPON ME, BECAUSE HE ANOINTED ME TO PREACH THE GOSPEL TO THE POOR. HE HAS SENT ME TO PROCLAIM RELEASE TO THE CAPTIVES, AND RECOVERY OF SIGHT TO THE BLIND, TO SET FREE * THOSE WHO ARE OPPRESSED,
11TO PROCLAIM THE FAVORABLE YEAR OF THE LORD."
And He 12closed the book, gave it back to the attendant and 13sat down; and the eyes of all in the synagogue were fixed on Him.
