Simonanswered and said, "I suppose the one whom he forgavemore." And He said to him, "You have judgedcorrectly."

Turningtoward the woman, He said to Simon, "Do you seethiswoman? I entered your house; you 2gave Me nowater for My feet, but she has wet My feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair.

"You 3gave Me nokiss; but she, since the time I came in, has not ceased to kiss My feet.

"4You did not anoint My head with oil, but she anointed My feet with perfume.

"For thisreason I say to you, her sins, which are many, have been forgiven, for she lovedmuch; but he who is forgivenlittle, loveslittle."

Then He said to her, "5Your sins have been forgiven."

Those who were reclining at the table with Him began to say to themselves, "6Who is this man whoevenforgivessins?"

And He said to the woman, "7Your faith has saved you; 8go in peace."
