Those who went in front and those who followed were shouting: "Hosanna! 1BLESSED IS HE WHO COMES IN THE NAME OF THE LORD;

Blessed is the comingkingdom of our fatherDavid; Hosanna2in the highest!"

3Jesus enteredJerusalem and came into the temple; and after lookingaround at everything, 4He left for Bethany with the twelve, since it was alreadylate.

5On the nextday, when they had leftBethany, He became hungry.

Seeing at a distance a figtree in leaf, He went to see ifperhaps He would findanything on it; and when He came to it, He foundnothing but leaves, for it was not the season for figs.

He said to it, "May nooneever*eatfruit from you again!" And His disciples were listening.
Jesus Drives Money Changers from the Temple
156Then they came to Jerusalem. And He entered the temple and began to drive out those who were buying and selling in the temple, and overturned the tables of the moneychangers and the seats of those who were sellingdoves;

and He would not permitanyone to carrymerchandisethrough the temple.

And He began to teach and say to them, "Is it not written, '7MY HOUSE SHALL BE CALLED A HOUSE OF PRAYER FOR ALL THE NATIONS '? 8But you have made it a ROBBERS'DEN."

The chiefpriests and the scribesheard this, and 9began seekinghow to destroy Him; for they were afraid of Him, for 10the wholecrowd was astonished at His teaching.

11Wheneveningcame, they would go out of the city.
