1They were watching Him to see if He would heal him on the Sabbath, 2so that they might accuse Him.

He said to the man with the witheredhand, "Get up and come forward*!"

And He said to them, "Is it lawful to dogoodor to doharm on the Sabbath, to save a lifeor to kill?" But they keptsilent.

After 3lookingaround at them with anger, grieved at their hardness of heart, He said to the man, "Stretch out your hand." And he stretched it out, and his hand was restored.

The Phariseeswent out and immediately began conspiring with the 4Herodiansagainst Him, as to how they might destroy Him.

5Jesuswithdrew to the sea with His disciples; and 6a greatmultitude from Galileefollowed; and also from Judea,
8
and from Jerusalem, and from 7Idumea, and beyond the Jordan, and the vicinity of 8Tyre and Sidon, a greatnumber of peopleheard of all that He was doing and came to Him.

9And He told His disciples that a boat should standready for Him because of the crowd, so that they would not crowd Him;
10
for He had 10healedmany, with the result that all those whohad11afflictionspressedaround Him in order to 12touch Him.

Whenever the uncleanspiritssaw Him, they would falldownbefore Him and shout, "You are 13the Son of God!"

And He 14earnestlywarned them not to tellwho He was.
