And although the king was verysorry, yet because of his oaths and because of ahis dinnerguests, he was unwilling to refuse her.
27Immediately the kingsent an executioner and commanded him to bring back his head. And he went and had him beheaded in the prison,
and brought his head on a platter, and gave it to the girl; and the girlgave it to her mother.
When his disciplesheard about this, they came and tookaway his body and laid it in a tomb.
301The 2apostlesgatheredtogether with Jesus; and they reported to Him all that they had done and taught.
And He said to them, "Comeaway by yourselves to a secludedplace and rest a while." (For there were many people coming and going, and 3they did not evenhavetime to eat.)
324They wentaway in 5the boat to a secludedplace by themselves.
The people saw them going, and manyrecognized them and rantheretogether on foot from all the cities, and gotthereahead of them.
When Jesus wentbashore, He 6saw a largecrowd, and He feltcompassion for them because7they were likesheepwithout a shepherd; and He began to teach them manythings.
When it was alreadyquitelate , His disciplescame to Him and said, "cThisplace is desolate and it is alreadyquitelate ;
36send them awayso that they may go into the surroundingcountryside and villages and buythemselvesdsomething to eat."
