11Nowafter the Sabbath, as it began to dawntoward the first day of the week, 2MaryMagdalene and the otherMarycame to look at the grave.

And behold, a severeearthquake had occurred, for 3an angel of the Lorddescended from heaven and came and rolledaway4the stone and sat upon it.

And 5his appearance was likelightning, and his clothing as white as snow.

The guardsshook for fear of him and becamelikedeadmen.

The angelsaid to the women, "6Do not be afraid; for I know that you are looking for Jesus who has been crucified.

"He is not here, for He has risen, 7just as He said. Come, see the placewhere He was lying.

"Goquickly and tell His disciples that He has risen from the dead; and behold, He is goingahead of you 8into Galilee, there you will see Him; behold, I have told you."

And they left the tombquickly with fear and greatjoy and ran to report it to His disciples.

And behold, Jesusmet them and greeted* them. And they came up and tookhold of His feet and worshiped Him.

ThenJesussaid to them, "9Do not be afraid; go and takeword to 10My brethren to leave11for Galilee, and there they will see Me."

Now while they were on their way, some of 12the guardcame into the city and reported to the chiefpriestsall that had happened.

And when they had assembled with the elders and consulted*together, they gave a largesum of money to the soldiers,
13
and said, "You are to say, 'His disciplescame by night and stole Him away while we were asleep.'
14
"And ifthis should come to 13the governor'sears, we will win him over and keep you out of trouble."
15
And they took the money and did as they had been instructed; and thisstory was widely14spreadamong the Jews, and is 15to thisday.
The Great Commission
16 But the elevendisciplesproceeded16to Galilee, to the mountainwhichJesus had designated.
17
When they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but 17some were doubtful.
18
And Jesuscame up and spoke to them, saying, "18Allauthority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.
19
"19Gotherefore and 20makedisciples of 21all the nations, 22baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the HolySpirit,

teaching them to observeall that I commanded you; and lo, 23I am with you always*, even to 24the end of the age."
