After He had sent the crowdsaway, 1He went up on the mountain by Himself to pray; and when it was evening, He was therealone.
But the boat was alreadyaa longdistance from the land, bbattered by the waves; for the wind was c2contrary.
And in 3the dfourthwatch of the night He came to them, walking on the sea.
When the disciplessaw Him walking on the sea, they were terrified, and said, "It is 4a ghost!" And they cried out ein fear.
But immediatelyJesusspoke to them, saying, "5Takecourage, it is I; 6do not be afraid."28Petersaid to Him, "Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water."
And He said, "Come!" And Petergot out of the boat, and walked on the water and cametowardJesus.
But seeing the wind, he became frightened, and beginning to sink, he cried out, "Lord, save me!"
31ImmediatelyJesusstretched out His hand and tookhold of him, and said to him, "7You of littlefaith, why did you doubt?"32
When they got into the boat, the windstopped.
And those who were in the boatworshiped Him, saying, "You are certainly8God'sSon!"
