6Manywomen were therelooking on from a distance, who had followedJesus from Galilee while 7ministering to Him.

Among them was 8MaryMagdalene, and Mary the mother of James and Joseph, and 9the mother of the sons of Zebedee.
Jesus Is Buried
5710When it was evening, there came a richman from Arimathea, namedJoseph, whohimself had alsobecome a disciple of Jesus.

Thismanwent to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus. ThenPilateordered it to be given to him.

And Josephtook the body and wrapped it in a cleanlinencloth,

and laid it in his own newtomb, which he had hewn out in the rock; and he rolled11a largestone against the entrance of the tomb and wentaway.

And 12MaryMagdalene was there, and the otherMary, sittingopposite the grave.

Now on the nextday, the dayafter13the preparation, the chiefpriests and the Phariseesgatheredtogether with Pilate,

and said, "Sir, we remember that when He was stillalive that deceiversaid, '14Afterthreedays I am to riseagain.'
