3Who1eat the flesh of my people, Stripoff their skin from them, Break their bones And 2chop them up as for the pot And as meat in a kettle."
4Then they will 3cry out to the LORD, But He will not answer them. Instead, He will 4hide His face from them at that timeBecause they have 5practicedevildeeds.
5Thussays the LORDconcerning the prophets who 6lead my peopleastray; When they have something to bite with their teeth, They 7cry, "Peace," But against him whoputsnothing in their mouths They declareholywar.
6Therefore it will be 8night for you-withoutvision, And darkness for you-withoutdivination. The 9sun will go down on the prophets, And the day will becomedarkover them.
The seers will be 10ashamed And the 11diviners will be embarrassed. Indeed, they will all12cover their amouthsBecausethere is 13noanswer from God.
On the otherhand14I am filled with power - With the Spirit of the LORD - And with justice and courage To 15makeknown to Jacob his rebelliousact, Even to Israel his sin.
9Nowhearthis, 16heads of the house of Jacob And rulers of the house of Israel, Who 17abhorjustice And twisteverything that is straight,
Who 18buildZion with bloodshed And Jerusalem with violentinjustice.
Her leaderspronounce19judgment for a bribe, Her 20priestsinstruct for a price And her prophetsdivine for money. Yet they lean on the LORDsaying, "21Is not the LORD in our midst? Calamity will not come upon us."
12Therefore, on account of you 22Zion will be plowed as a field, 23Jerusalem will become a heap of ruins, And the 24mountain of the btemple will become highplaces of a forest.
