So the LORDsaid, "1I have pardoned them according to your word ;
but indeed, 2as I live, a3all the earth will be filled with the glory of the LORD.
22"Surely4all the men who have seen My glory and My signswhich I performed in Egypt and in the wilderness, yet 5have put Me to the testthesetentimes and have not listened to My voice,
236shall by nomeanssee the landwhich I swore to their fathers, nor shall any of those who spurned Me see it.
"But My servantCaleb, 7because he hashad a differentspirit and has followed Me fully, b8I will bring into the landcwhich he entered, and his ddescendants shall takepossession of it.
"9Now the Amalekites and the Canaaniteslive in the valleys ; turntomorrow and set out to the wilderness by the way of the eRedSea."
The LORDspoke to Moses and Aaron, saying,
27"Howlong shall I bear with thisevilcongregationwho are 10grumblingagainst Me? I have heard the complaints of the sons of Israel, which they are fmakingagainst Me.
28"Say to them, '11As I live,' says the LORD, 'just as 12you have spoken in My hearing, so I will surely do to you;
2913your corpses will fall in thiswilderness, even all14your gnumbered men, according to your completenumber from twentyyearsold and upward, who have grumbledagainst Me.
30'Surely you shall not come into the land in which I hswore to settle you, 15exceptCaleb the son of Jephunneh and Joshua the son of Nun.
'16Your children, however, whom you said would become a prey -I will bring them in, and they will know the landwhich you have rejected.
'17But as for you, your corpses will fall in thiswilderness.
'Your sons shall be shepherds for 18fortyyears in the wilderness, and they will isuffer for your junfaithfulness, until your corpsesklie in the wilderness.
'According to the 19number of dayswhich you spied out the land, fortydays, for everyday you shall bear your lguilt a year, even fortyyears, and you will know My opposition.
'20I, the LORD, have spoken, surelythis I will do to allthisevilcongregation who are gathered together against Me. In thiswilderness they shall be destroyed, and there they will die.' "
