"So I will stretch out My hand and strike Egypt with all My miracles which I shall do in the midst of it; and after that he will let you go.
"But on that day I will set apart the land of Goshen, where My people are living, so that no swarms of flies will be there, in order that you may know that I, the LORD , am in the midst of the land.
Then the LORD said to Moses, "Go to Pharaoh, for I have hardened his heart and the heart of his servants, that I may perform these signs of Mine among them,
'Do not eat any of it raw or boiled at all with water, but rather roasted with fire, both its head and its legs along with its entrails.
He named the place Massah and Meribah because of the quarrel of the sons of Israel, and because they tested the LORD , saying, "Is the LORD among us, or not?"
"But you shall serve the LORD your God, and He will bless your bread and your water; and I will remove sickness from your midst.
"You shall take all the fat that covers the entrails and the lobe of the liver, and the two kidneys and the fat that is on them, and offer them up in smoke on the altar.
"Then you shall cut the ram into its pieces, and wash its entrails and its legs, and put them with its pieces and its head.
"You shall also take the fat from the ram and the fat tail, and the fat that covers the entrails and the lobe of the liver, and the two kidneys and the fat that is on them and the right thigh (for it is a ram of ordination ),
'Therefore you are to observe the sabbath, for it is holy to you. Everyone who profanes it shall surely be put to death; for whoever does any work on it, that person shall be cut off from among his people.
"Go up to a land flowing with milk and honey; for I will not go up in your midst, because you are an obstinate people, and I might destroy you on the way."
For the LORD had said to Moses, "Say to the sons of Israel, 'You are an obstinate people; should I go up in your midst for one moment, I would destroy you. Now therefore, put off your ornaments from you, that I may know what I shall do with you.' "
He said, "If now I have found favor in Your sight, O Lord , I pray, let the Lord go along in our midst, even though the people are so obstinate , and pardon our iniquity and our sin, and take us as Your own possession."
Then God said, "Behold, I am going to make a covenant. Before all your people I will perform miracles which have not been produced in all the earth nor among any of the nations; and all the people among whom you live will see the working of the LORD , for it is a fearful thing that I am going to perform with you.
"Watch yourself that you make no covenant with the inhabitants of the land into which you are going, or it will become a snare in your midst.
