So then, my beloved, 1just as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your 2salvation with 3fear and trembling ;

for it is 4God who is at work in you, both to will and to work 5for His good pleasure.

Do all things without 6grumbling or disputing ;
15
so that you will aprove yourselves to be 7blameless and innocent, 8children of God above reproach in the midst of a 9crooked and perverse generation, among whom you b10appear as clights in the world,
16
holding dfast the word of life, so that in 11the day of Christ I will have reason to glory because I did not 12run in vain nor 13toil in vain.
