12Sothen, my beloved, 1just as you have alwaysobeyed, not as in my presenceonly, but nowmuchmore in my absence, work out your 2salvation with 3fear and trembling ;

for it is 4God who is at work in you, both to will and to work5for His goodpleasure.
14Doallthingswithout6grumblingordisputing ;
15so that you will aprove yourselves to be 7blameless and innocent, 8children of Godabovereproach in the midst of a 9crooked and perversegeneration, amongwhom you b10appear as clights in the world,
16holdingdfast the word of life, so that in 11the day of Christ I will have reason to glorybecause I did not 12run in vainnor13toil in vain.
