But you know1of his provenworth, that 2he served with me in the furtherance of the gospel3like a child serving his father.
234Therefore I hope to send him immediately, as soon as I seehowthings go with me;
and 5I trust in the Lord that I myselfalso will be comingshortly.
But I thought it necessary to send to you 6Epaphroditus, my brother and 7fellowworker and 8fellowsoldier, who is also your a9messenger and 10minister to my need;
26because he was longingbfor you all and was distressedbecause you had heard that he was sick.
For indeed he was sick to the point of death, but Godhadmercy on him, and not on him only but also on me, so that I would not havesorrow upon sorrow.
28Therefore I have sent him all the moreeagerlyso that when you see him again you may rejoice and I may be lessconcerned about you.
2911Receive him then in the Lord with alljoy, and 12holdmenlike him in highregard;
30because he cameclose to deathc13for the work of Christ, risking his life to 14completedwhat was deficient in your service to me.
