Thanksgiving for Deliverance from Death.

1 I will ¹extol You, O LORD, for You have ²lifted me up, And have not let my ³enemies rejoice over me. 2 O LORD my God, I ⁴cried to You for help, and You ⁵healed me. 3 O LORD, You have ⁶brought up my soul from ^aSheol ; You have kept me alive, ^bthat I would not ⁷go down to the pit. 4 ⁸Sing praise to the LORD, you ⁹His godly ones, And ¹⁰give thanks to His holy ^c¹¹name. 5 For ¹²His anger is but for a moment, His ¹³favor is for a lifetime ; Weeping may ¹⁴last for the night, But a shout of joy comes in the morning. 6 Now as for me, I said in my prosperity, "I will ¹⁵never be moved." 7 O LORD, by Your favor You have made my mountain to stand strong ; You ¹⁶hid Your face, I was dismayed. 8 To You, O LORD, I called, And to the Lord I made supplication : 9 "What profit is there in my blood, if I ¹⁷go down to the pit ? Will the ¹⁸dust praise You? Will it declare Your faithfulness ? 10 "¹⁹Hear, O LORD, and be gracious to me; O LORD, be my ²⁰helper." 11 You have turned for me ²¹my mourning into dancing ; You have ²²loosed my sackcloth and girded me with ²³gladness, 12 That my ^d²⁴soul may sing praise to You and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will ²⁵give thanks to You forever.
