6knowingthis, that our 1oldaself was 2crucified with Him, in order that our 3body of sin might be bdoneaway with, so that we would nolonger be slaves to sin ;
7
for 4he who has died is cfreed from sin.
8Now5if we have died with Christ, we believe that we shall alsolive with Him,
9knowing that Christ, having been 6raised from the dead, dis never to dieagain ; 7deathnolonger is masterover Him.
10
For the death that He died, He died to sinonce for all ; but the life that He lives, He lives to God.
11Evensoconsideryourselves to be 8dead to sin, but alive to God in ChristJesus.
12Therefore do not let sin9reign in your mortalbodyso that you obey its lusts,
13
and do not go on 10presentingethe members of your body to sin as finstruments of unrighteousness ; but 11presentyourselves to God as those alive from the dead, and your members as ginstruments of righteousness to God.
14
For 12sin shall not 13be masterover you, for 14you are not underlaw but 15undergrace.
15Whatthen ? 16Shall we sinbecause we are not underlaw but undergrace ? 17May it never be!
16
Do you not 18know that when you presentyourselves to someone as 19slaves for obedience, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of 20sinhresulting in death, or of obedienceiresulting in righteousness ?
17
But 21thanks be to God that jthough you were slaves of sin, you becameobedient from the heart to that 22form of teaching to which you were committed,
18
and having been 23freed from sin, you becameslaves of righteousness.
1924I am speaking in humantermsbecause of the weakness of your flesh. For just25as you presented your members as slaves to impurity and to lawlessness, kresulting in further lawlessness, sonowpresent your members as slaves to righteousness, lresulting in sanctification.
20
For 26when you were slaves of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness.
21Thereforewhatm27benefit were you thennderivingofrom the things of which you are nowashamed ? For the outcome of thosethings is 28death.
22
But now having been 29freed from sin and 30enslaved to God, you pderive your q31benefit, rresulting in sanctification, and 32the outcome, eternallife.
23
For the wages of 33sin is death, but the freegift of God is 34eternallife in ChristJesus our Lord.
