1 Samuel 12:25

25 But if you are stubborn and do evil, he will sweep you and your king away."

1 Samuel 12:25 Meaning and Commentary

1 Samuel 12:25

But if ye shall still do wickedly
Continue to rebel against God, revolt from him, and depart from his worship, and despise his prophets, and serve idols:

ye shall be consumed, both ye and your king;
their king would be so far from protecting, that he should perish with them, be killed by the sword, as Saul their first king was, or go into captivity, as others of their kings did.

1 Samuel 12:25 In-Context

23 I will surely not stop praying for you, because that would be sinning against the Lord. I will teach you what is good and right.
24 You must honor the Lord and truly serve him with all your heart. Remember the wonderful things he did for you!
25 But if you are stubborn and do evil, he will sweep you and your king away."
