Mark 2:13 Meaning and Commentary

Mark 2:13

And he went forth again by the sea side
The sea of Galilee, where he had met with, and called Peter and Andrew, James and John; and not far from which were the solitary place, and the desert places, where he was before he entered into Capernaum:

and all the multitude resorted unto him;
who had been with him at Peter's house, and about the door, and those who could not get near him:

and he taught them;
the word of God, the Gospel, and the doctrines of it.

Mark 2:13 In-Context

11 "I tell you, stand up, take your mat, and go home."
12 Immediately the paralyzed man stood up, took his mat, and walked out while everyone was watching him. The people were amazed and praised God. They said, "We have never seen anything like this!"
13 Jesus went to the lake again. The whole crowd followed him there, and he taught them.
14 While he was walking along, he saw a man named Levi son of Alphaeus, sitting in the tax collector's booth. Jesus said to him, "Follow me," and he stood up and followed Jesus.
15 Later, as Jesus was having dinner at Levi's house, many tax collectors and "sinners" were eating there with Jesus and his followers. Many people like this followed Jesus.
