Priests and Levites

1 These were the priests¹ and Levites² who returned with Zerubbabel³ son of Shealtiel⁴ and with Jeshua:⁵ Seraiah,⁶ Jeremiah, Ezra, 2 Amariah, Malluch, Hattush, 3 Shecaniah, Rehum, Meremoth, 4 Iddo,⁷ Ginnethon,^a Abijah,⁸ 5 Mijamin,^b Moadiah, Bilgah, 6 Shemaiah, Joiarib, Jedaiah,⁹ 7 Sallu, Amok, Hilkiah and Jedaiah. These were the leaders of the priests and their associates in the days of Jeshua. 8 The Levites were Jeshua,¹⁰ Binnui, Kadmiel, Sherebiah, Judah, and also Mattaniah,¹¹ who, together with his associates, was in charge of the songs of thanksgiving. 9 Bakbukiah and Unni, their associates, stood opposite them in the services.
