40 Toda la multitud siguió a Salomón hasta Jerusalén, tocando flautas y gritando de alegría. La celebración estaba tan alegre y estruendosa que el sonido hacía temblar la tierra.

1 Kings 1:40

And all the people came up after him
Following him from the fountain to the city, with their loud acclamations:

and the people piped with pipes;
which were hollow instruments, and full of holes which they blew with their mouths, and upon with their fingers; Jarchi says they were and very probably:

and rejoiced with great joy;
which they expressed by such loud shouts:

so that the earth rent with the sound thereof;
an hyperbolical expression, showing the great numbers gathered together on this occasion, and the sonorous acclamations they made.

38 Entonces el sacerdote Sadoc y el profeta Natán junto con Benaía, hijo de Joiada, y la guardia personal del rey
llevaron a Salomón hasta el manantial de Gihón; y Salomón iba montado en la mula que pertenecía al rey David.

39 Allí el sacerdote Sadoc tomó de la carpa sagrada el frasco de aceite de oliva, y ungió a Salomón con el aceite. Luego hicieron sonar el cuerno de carnero, y toda la gente gritó: «¡Que viva el rey Salomón!».

41 Adonías y sus invitados escucharon la celebración y los gritos casi al terminar el banquete. Cuando Joab oyó el sonido del cuerno de carnero, preguntó: «¿Qué está pasando? ¿Por qué hay tanto alboroto en la ciudad?».

42 No había terminado de hablar, cuando llegó Jonatán, hijo del sacerdote Abiatar.
—Entra —le dijo Adonías—, porque eres un hombre bueno. Seguramente traes buenas noticias.
