Genesis 46:2

And God spake unto Israel in the visions of the night
He appeared to Jacob as he lay upon his bed in the night season, and with an articulate voice spoke to him as follows: and said, Jacob, Jacob:
not "Israel", the more honourable name he had given him, but Jacob, putting him in mind of his former low estate; and doubling this name, either out of love and affection to him, as Jarchi intimates; or rather in order to awake him, at least to stir up his attention to what he was about to say to him: and he said, here [am] I;
signifying his readiness to hearken to him in what he should say to him, and to obey him in whatsoever he should command him.

1 Viaje de Jacob a Egipto
Entonces Jacob
emprendió el viaje a Egipto con todas sus posesiones. Y cuando llegó a Beerseba, ofreció sacrificios al Dios de su padre Isaac.

2 Durante la noche, Dios le habló en una visión.
—¡Jacob! ¡Jacob! —lo llamó.
—Aquí estoy —respondió Jacob.

3 —Yo soy Dios,
el Dios de tu padre —dijo la voz—. No tengas temor de descender a Egipto, porque allí haré de tu familia una gran nación.

4 Yo descenderé contigo a Egipto y te volveré a traer. Morirás en Egipto, pero José estará contigo para cerrar tus ojos.

5 Entonces Jacob salió de Beerseba, y sus hijos lo llevaron a Egipto. Lo transportaron a él, junto con los pequeños y las esposas, en los carros que el faraón les había provisto.
