4 Perseguí a los seguidores del Camino, acosando a algunos hasta la muerte, y arresté tanto a hombres como a mujeres para arrojarlos en la cárcel.

Acts 22:4

And I persecuted this way unto the death
That is, the Christian religion, and the professors of it; whom the apostle breathed out threatenings and slaughter against, haled out of their houses, and committed to prison; consented to their death, as he did to Stephen's; and whenever it was put to the vote, whether they should die or not, he gave his voice against them; so that he was a most bitter enemy, and an implacable persecutor of them; which shows how very averse he was to this way, and how great his prejudices were against it; wherefore it must be a work of divine power, and there must be the singular hand of God in it, to reconcile him to it, and cause him to embrace and profess it:

binding and delivering into prisons, both men and women:

2 Cuando lo oyeron hablar en el idioma
de ellos, el silencio fue aún mayor.

3 Entonces Pablo dijo: «Soy judío, nacido en Tarso, una ciudad de Cilicia, y fui criado y educado aquí en Jerusalén bajo el maestro Gamaliel. Como estudiante de él, fui cuidadosamente entrenado en nuestras leyes y costumbres judías. Llegué a tener un gran celo por honrar a Dios en todo lo que hacía, tal como todos ustedes hoy.

5 El sumo sacerdote y todo el consejo de ancianos pueden dar fe de que esto es cierto. Pues recibí cartas de ellos, dirigidas a nuestros hermanos judíos en Damasco, las cuales me autorizaban a encadenar a los cristianos de esa ciudad y traerlos a Jerusalén para que fueran castigados.

6 »Cuando iba de camino, ya cerca de Damasco, como al mediodía, de repente una intensa luz del cielo brilló alrededor de mí.
