Isaías 34:15

15 Allí el búho hará su nido y pondrá sus huevos;
empollará a sus polluelos y los cubrirá con sus alas.
También irán los buitres,
cada uno con su compañera.

Isaiah 34:15

There shall the great owl make her nest
Jarchi, Kimchi, and Ben Melech, say that "kippoz" here is the same with "kippod", rendered "bittern" in ( Isaiah 34:11 ) but Aben Ezra takes them to be two different birds; it is hard to say what is designed by it. Bochart thinks that one kind of serpent is here meant, so called from its leaping up, and which may be said to make nests, lay eggs and hatch them, as follows:

and lay, and hatch, and gather under her shadow;
lay its eggs, sit upon them, and hatch them; or "break" them ^F21, that is, the eggs, by sitting on them, when the young ones spring out of them; and then being hatched, and running about, gather them under their wing, especially when in any danger:

there shall the vultures also be gathered, everyone with her mate;
which creatures usually gather together where dead carcasses lie.

13 Los espinos invadirán sus palacios;
en sus fuertes crecerán la ortiga y el cardo.
Las ruinas serán guarida de los chacales
y se convertirán en hogar de los búhos.

14 Los animales del desierto se mezclarán allí con las hienas,
y sus aullidos llenarán la noche.
Las cabras salvajes se balarán unas a otras en medio de las ruinas,
y las criaturas de la noche
irán a ese lugar para descansar.

15 Allí el búho hará su nido y pondrá sus huevos;
empollará a sus polluelos y los cubrirá con sus alas.

cada uno con su compañera.

16 Escudriñen el libro del Señor
y vean lo que él hará.
Ninguno de estos animales ni de estas aves estará ausente,
y a ninguno le faltará su pareja,
porque el Señor
lo ha prometido.
Su Espíritu hará que todo esto se haga realidad.

17 Él ha medido y dividido la tierra,
y se la ha dado en propiedad a esas criaturas.
Ellas la poseerán para siempre,
de generación en generación.
