Ezekiel 6:7

And the slain shall fall in the midst of you
The word for slain is in the singular number, which perhaps is put for the plural; and so the Septuagint renders it; unless it should design some principal person that should be slain; but, as King Zedekiah was not slain when the city was taken, only his sons and his princes, it seems best to understand it of the multitude that were slain in the midst of the land, not only in Jerusalem, but in all the cities of Judea; and denotes how general and public the destruction would be: and ye shall know that I [am] the Lord;
the only true God, and Governor of the world; who only is to be worshipped, feared, and served, and not idols.

5 En efecto, delante de sus ídolos arrojaré los cadáveres de los israelitas, y esparciré sus huesos en torno a sus altares.

6 No importa dónde vivan ustedes, sus ciudades serán destruidas y sus lugares de culto idolátrico serán devastados. Sus altares quedarán completamente destrozados; sus ídolos, hechos un montón de ruinas; sus quemadores de incienso, hechos añicos. ¡Todas sus obras desaparecerán!

8 »”’Pero yo dejaré que algunos de ustedes se escapen de la muerte y queden esparcidos entre las naciones y los pueblos.

9 Los sobrevivientes se acordarán de mí en las naciones donde hayan sido llevados cautivos. Se acordarán de cómo sufrí por culpa de su corazón adúltero, y de cómo se apartaron de mí y se fueron tras sus ídolos. ¡Sentirán asco de ellos mismos por todas las maldades que hicieron y por sus obras repugnantes!
