42 Também subjugou todos esses reis e conquistou suas terras numa única campanha, pois o SENHOR, o Deus de Israel, lutou por Israel.

Joshua 10:42

And all these kings, and their land, did Joshua take at one
time
Not in one day, but in a very short time, in a few days, as the history clearly shows:

because the Lord God of Israel fought for Israel;
which is the true reason of such quick dispatch being made, otherwise in all probability much longer time must have been consumed in subduing them. The Targum is,

``because the Lord God of Israel fought by his Word for Israel.''

40 Assim Josué conquistou a região toda, incluindo a serra central, o Neguebe, a Sefelá e as vertentes, e derrotou todos os seus reis, sem deixar sobrevivente algum. Exterminou tudo o que respirava, conforme o SENHOR, o Deus de Israel, tinha ordenado.

41 Josué os derrotou desde Cades-Barneia até Gaza, e toda a região de Gósen, e de lá até Gibeom.

42 Também subjugou todos esses reis e conquistou suas terras numa única campanha, pois o SENHOR, o Deus de Israel, lutou por Israel.

43 Então Josué retornou com todo o Israel ao acampamento em Gilgal.
