Mark 10:41

And when the ten heard it
The request made by the sons of Zebedee or their mother for them:

they began to be much displeased with James and John;
Matthew says "they were moved with indignation against them", ( Matthew 20:24 ) ; they were filled with, wrath and were very angry with them; which they showed in their countenances and by their behaviour towards them as well as by words: the Syriac and Arabic versions, render it, "they began to murmur against them"; they highly resented it and were ready to break out into an open quarrel upon it; (See Gill on Matthew 20:24).

39 “Podemos”, responderam eles.Jesus lhes disse: “Vocês beberão o cálice que estou bebendo e serão batizados com o batismo com que estou sendo batizado;

40 mas o assentar-se à minha direita ou à minha esquerda não cabe a mim conceder. Esses lugares pertencem àqueles para quem foram preparados”.

41 Quando os outros dez ouviram essas coisas, ficaram indignados com Tiago e João.

42 Jesus os chamou e disse: “Vocês sabem que aqueles que são considerados governantes das nações as dominam, e as pessoas importantes exercem poder sobre elas.

43 Não será assim entre vocês. Ao contrário, quem quiser tornar-se importante entre vocês deverá ser servo;
