Mishle 24:34

34 So shall thy poverty come like a prowler; and thy want like an ish mogen (armed warrior).

Mishle 24:34 Meaning and Commentary

Proverbs 24:34

So shall thy poverty come [as] one that travelleth
Swiftly and suddenly, both in a temporal and spiritual sense; (See Gill on Proverbs 6:11); and thy want as an armed man;
irresistibly. Here ends according to some the "second", according to others the "third" part of this book of Proverbs, another beginning with the following chapter.

Mishle 24:34 In-Context

32 Then I saw, and considered it well in my lev; I looked upon it, and received musar.
33 Yet a little shenot (slumber), a little sleep, a little folding of the yadayim to rest;
34 So shall thy poverty come like a prowler; and thy want like an ish mogen (armed warrior).
