New Living Translation (NLT) New International Version (NIV)
Then Moses climbed the mountain to appear before God. The LORD called out to him from the mountain and said, "Give these instructions to the descendants of Jacob, the people of Israel: 3 Then Moses went up to God, and the LORD called to him from the mountain and said, "This is what you are to say to the house of Jacob and what you are to tell the people of Israel:
'You have seen what I did to the Egyptians. You know how I brought you to myself and carried you on eagle's wings. 4 'You yourselves have seen what I did to Egypt, and how I carried you on eagles' wings and brought you to myself.
Now if you will obey me and keep my covenant, you will be my own special treasure from among all the nations of the earth; for all the earth belongs to me. 5 Now if you obey me fully and keep my covenant, then out of all nations you will be my treasured possession. Although the whole earth is mine,
And you will be to me a kingdom of priests, my holy nation.' Give this message to the Israelites." 6 you will be for me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.' These are the words you are to speak to the Israelites."
Moses returned from the mountain and called together the leaders of the people and told them what the LORD had said. 7 So Moses went back and summoned the elders of the people and set before them all the words the LORD had commanded him to speak.
They all responded together, "We will certainly do everything the LORD asks of us." So Moses brought the people's answer back to the LORD. 8 The people all responded together, "We will do everything the LORD has said." So Moses brought their answer back to the LORD.
