20 These are the children of Cham in their kindreds and tongues, and generations, and lands, and nations.

These are the sons of Ham by their clans and languages, in their territories and nations.
21 Of Sem also the father of all the children of Heber, the elder brother of Japheth, sons were born.

Sons were also born to Shem, whose older brother was Japheth; Shem was the ancestor of all the sons of Eber.
22 The sons of Sem: Elam and Assur, and Arphaxad, and Lud, and Aram.

The sons of Shem: Elam, Ashur, Arphaxad, Lud and Aram.
23 The sons of Aram: Us, and Hull, and Gether; and Mes.

The sons of Aram: Uz, Hul, Gether and Meshek.
24 But Arphaxad begot Sale, of whom was born Heber.

Arphaxad was the father of Shelah, and Shelah the father of Eber.
25 And to Heber were born two sons: the name of the one was Phaleg, because in his days was the earth divided: and his brother’s name Jectan.

Two sons were born to Eber: One was named Peleg, because in his time the earth was divided; his brother was named Joktan.
26 Which Jectan begot Elmodad, and Saleph, and Asarmoth, Jare,

Joktan was the father of Almodad, Sheleph, Hazarmaveth, Jerah,
27 And Aduram, and Uzal, and Decla,

Hadoram, Uzal, Diklah,
28 And Ebal, and Abimael, Saba,

Obal, Abimael, Sheba,
29 And Ophir, and Hevila, and Jobab. All these were the sons of Jectan.

Ophir, Havilah and Jobab. All these were sons of Joktan.
30 And their dwelling was from Messa as we go on as far as Sephar, a mountain in the east.

The region where they lived stretched from Mesha toward Sephar, in the eastern hill country.
