New Living Translation (NLT) New International Version (NIV)
Don't ever forget those early days when you first learned about Christ. Remember how you remained faithful even though it meant terrible suffering. 32 Remember those earlier days after you had received the light, when you stood your ground in a great contest in the face of suffering.
Sometimes you were exposed to public ridicule and were beaten, and sometimes you helped others who were suffering the same things. 33 Sometimes you were publicly exposed to insult and persecution; at other times you stood side by side with those who were so treated.
You suffered along with those who were thrown into jail. When all you owned was taken from you, you accepted it with joy. You knew you had better things waiting for you in eternity. 34 You sympathized with those in prison and joyfully accepted the confiscation of your property, because you knew that you yourselves had better and lasting possessions.
Do not throw away this confident trust in the Lord, no matter what happens. Remember the great reward it brings you! 35 So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded.
