Lexham English Bible (LEB) New International Version (NIV)
And the seventy-two returned with joy, saying, "Lord, even the demons are subject to us in your name!" 17 The seventy-two returned with joy and said, "Lord, even the demons submit to us in your name."
So he said to them, "I saw Satan falling like lightning from heaven. 18 He replied, "I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.
Behold, I have given you the authority to tread on snakes and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing will ever harm you. 19 I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.
Nevertheless, do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are inscribed in heaven." 20 However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven."
At [that] same time he rejoiced in the Holy Spirit and said, "I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these [things] from the wise and intelligent and have revealed them to young children. Yes, Father, for this was pleasing before you. 21 At that time Jesus, full of joy through the Holy Spirit, said, "I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this was your good pleasure.
All [things] have been handed over to me by my Father, and no one knows who the Son is except the Father and who the Father is except the Son, and [anyone] to whom the Son wants to reveal [him]." 22 "All things have been committed to me by my Father. No one knows who the Son is except the Father, and no one knows who the Father is except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him."
And turning to the disciples, he said privately, "Blessed [are] the eyes that see [the things] which you see! 23 Then he turned to his disciples and said privately, "Blessed are the eyes that see what you see.
For I tell you that many prophets and kings desired to see [the things] which you see, and did not see [them], and to hear [the things] which you hear, and did not hear [them]." 24 For I tell you that many prophets and kings wanted to see what you see but did not see it, and to hear what you hear but did not hear it."
