Proverbs 24:1-11 NRS/NIV - Online Parallel Bible

New Revised Standard (NRS) New International Version (NIV)
Do not envy the wicked, nor desire to be with them; 1 Do not envy wicked men, do not desire their company;
for their minds devise violence, and their lips talk of mischief. 2 for their hearts plot violence, and their lips talk about making trouble.
By wisdom a house is built, and by understanding it is established; 3 By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established;
by knowledge the rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant riches. 4 through knowledge its rooms are filled with rare and beautiful treasures.
Wise warriors are mightier than strong ones, and those who have knowledge than those who have strength; 5 A wise man has great power, and a man of knowledge increases strength;
for by wise guidance you can wage your war, and in abundance of counselors there is victory. 6 for waging war you need guidance, and for victory many advisers.
Wisdom is too high for fools; in the gate they do not open their mouths. 7 Wisdom is too high for a fool; in the assembly at the gate he has nothing to say.
Whoever plans to do evil will be called a mischief-maker. 8 He who plots evil will be known as a schemer.
The devising of folly is sin, and the scoffer is an abomination to all. 9 The schemes of folly are sin, and men detest a mocker.
If you faint in the day of adversity, your strength being small; 10 If you falter in times of trouble, how small is your strength!
if you hold back from rescuing those taken away to death, those who go staggering to the slaughter; 11 Rescue those being led away to death; hold back those staggering toward slaughter.
