Psalm 16:1-6 GW/NIV - Online Parallel Bible

GOD'S WORD Translation (GW) New International Version (NIV)
1 Protect me, O God, because I take refuge in you. 1 Keep me safe, O God, for in you I take refuge.
2 I said to the LORD, "You are my Lord. Without you, I have nothing good." 2 I said to the LORD, "You are my Lord; apart from you I have no good thing."
3 Those who lead holy lives on earth are the noble ones who fill me with joy. 3 As for the saints who are in the land, they are the glorious ones in whom is all my delight.
4 Those who quickly chase after other gods multiply their sorrows. I will not pour out their sacrificial offerings of blood or use my lips to speak their names. 4 The sorrows of those will increase who run after other gods. I will not pour out their libations of blood or take up their names on my lips.
5 The LORD is my inheritance and my cup. You are the one who determines my destiny. 5 LORD, you have assigned me my portion and my cup; you have made my lot secure.
6 Your boundary lines mark out pleasant places for me. Indeed, my inheritance is something beautiful. 6 The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; surely I have a delightful inheritance.
