2 Timothy 2:1-13

NRS 1 You then, my child, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus; NIV 1 You then, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. NRS 2 and what you have heard from me through many witnesses entrust to faithful people who will be able to teach others as well. NIV 2 And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable men who will also be qualified to teach others. NRS 4 No one serving in the army gets entangled in everyday affairs; the soldier's aim is to please the enlisting officer. NRS 5 And in the case of an athlete, no one is crowned without competing according to the rules. NIV 5 Similarly, if anyone competes as an athlete, he does not receive the victor's crown unless he competes according to the rules.
