Acts 3:12-26

NRS 12 When Peter saw it, he addressed the people, "You Israelites, why do you wonder at this, or why do you stare at us, as though by our own power or piety we had made him walk? NIV 12 When Peter saw this, he said to them: "Men of Israel, why does this surprise you? Why do you stare at us as if by our own power or godliness we had made this man walk? NRS 13 The God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, the God of our ancestors has glorified his servant Jesus, whom you handed over and rejected in the presence of Pilate, though he had decided to release him. NIV 13 The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified his servant Jesus. You handed him over to be killed, and you disowned him before Pilate, though he had decided to let him go. NRS 14 But you rejected the Holy and Righteous One and asked to have a murderer given to you, NIV 14 You disowned the Holy and Righteous One and asked that a murderer be released to you. NRS 15 and you killed the Author of life, whom God raised from the dead. To this we are witnesses. NIV 15 You killed the author of life, but God raised him from the dead. We are witnesses of this. NRS 16 And by faith in his name, his name itself has made this man strong, whom you see and know; and the faith that is through Jesus has given him this perfect health in the presence of all of you. It is Jesus' name and the faith that comes through him that has given this complete healing to him, as you can all see. NRS 23 And it will be that everyone who does not listen to that prophet will be utterly rooted out of the people.' NRS 24 And all the prophets, as many as have spoken, from Samuel and those after him, also predicted these days. NIV 24 "Indeed, all the prophets from Samuel on, as many as have spoken, have foretold these days. NRS 25 You are the descendants of the prophets and of the covenant that God gave to your ancestors, saying to Abraham, "And in your descendants all the families of the earth shall be blessed.' NIV 25 And you are heirs of the prophets and of the covenant God made with your fathers. He said to Abraham, 'Through your offspring all peoples on earth will be blessed.' NRS 26 When God raised up his servant, he sent him first to you, to bless you by turning each of you from your wicked ways."
