Genesis 10

RHE 1 These are the generations of the sons of Noe: Sem, Cham, and Japheth: and unto them sons were born after the flood. NIV 1 This is the account of Shem, Ham and Japheth, Noah's sons, who themselves had sons after the flood. RHE 2 The sons of Japheth: Gomer, and Magog, and Madai, and Javan, and Thubal, and Mosoch, and Thiras. NIV 2 The sons of Japheth: Gomer, Magog, Madai, Javan, Tubal, Meshech and Tiras. RHE 3 And the sons of Gomer: Ascenez and Riphath and Thogorma. NIV 3 The sons of Gomer: Ashkenaz, Riphath and Togarmah. RHE 4 And the sons of Javan: Elisa and Tharsis, Cetthim and Dodanim. NIV 4 The sons of Javan: Elishah, Tarshish, the Kittim and the Rodanim. RHE 5 By these were divided the islands of the Gentiles in their lands, every one according to his tongue and their families in their nations. NIV 5 (From these the maritime peoples spread out into their territories by their clans within their nations, each with its own language.) RHE 6 And the Sons of Cham: Chus, and Mesram, and Phuth, and Chanaan. NIV 6 The sons of Ham: Cush, Mizraim, Put and Canaan. RHE 7 And the sons of Chus: Saba, and Hevila, and Sabatha, and Regma, and Sabatacha. The sons of Regma: Saba, and Dadan. NIV 7 The sons of Cush: Seba, Havilah, Sabtah, Raamah and Sabteca. The sons of Raamah: Sheba and Dedan. RHE 8 Now Chus begot Nemrod: he began to be mighty on the earth. NIV 8 Cush was the father of Nimrod, who grew to be a mighty warrior on the earth. RHE 9 And he was a stout hunter before the Lord. Hence came a proverb: Even as Nemrod the stout hunter before the Lord. NIV 9 He was a mighty hunter before the LORD; that is why it is said, "Like Nimrod, a mighty hunter before the LORD." RHE 10 And the beginning of his kingdom was Babylon, and Arach, and Achad, and Chalanne in the land of Sennaar. NIV 10 The first centers of his kingdom were Babylon, Erech, Akkad and Calneh, in Shinar. RHE 11 Out of that land came forth Assur, and built Ninive, and the streets of the city, and Chale. NIV 11 From that land he went to Assyria, where he built Nineveh, Rehoboth Ir, Calah RHE 12 Resen also between Ninive and Chale: this is the great city. NIV 12 and Resen, which is between Nineveh and Calah; that is the great city. RHE 13 And Mesraim begot Ludim, and Anamim and Laabim, Nephthuim. NIV 13 Mizraim was the father of the Ludites, Anamites, Lehabites, Naphtuhites, RHE 14 And Phetrusim, and Chasluim; of whom came forth the Philistines, and the Capthorim. NIV 14 Pathrusites, Casluhites (from whom the Philistines came) and Caphtorites. RHE 15 And Chanaan begot Sidon his firstborn, the Hethite, NIV 15 Canaan was the father of Sidon his firstborn, and of the Hittites, RHE 16 And the Jebusite, and the Amorrhite, and the Gergesite. NIV 16 Jebusites, Amorites, Girgashites, RHE 17 The Hevite and Aracite: the Sinite, NIV 17 Hivites, Arkites, Sinites, RHE 18 And the Aradian, the Samarite, and the Hamathite: and afterwards the families of the Chanaanites were spread abroad. NIV 18 Arvadites, Zemarites and Hamathites. Later the Canaanite clans scattered RHE 19 And the limits of Chanaan were from Sidon as one comes to Gerara even to Gaza, until thou enter Sodom and Gomorrha, and Adama, and Seboim even to Lesa. NIV 19 and the borders of Canaan reached from Sidon toward Gerar as far as Gaza, and then toward Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah and Zeboiim, as far as Lasha. RHE 20 These are the children of Cham in their kindreds and tongues, and generations, and lands, and nations. NIV 20 These are the sons of Ham by their clans and languages, in their territories and nations. RHE 21 Of Sem also the father of all the children of Heber, the elder brother of Japheth, sons were born. NIV 21 Sons were also born to Shem, whose older brother was Japheth; Shem was the ancestor of all the sons of Eber. RHE 22 The sons of Sem: Elam and Assur, and Arphaxad, and Lud, and Aram. NIV 22 The sons of Shem: Elam, Asshur, Arphaxad, Lud and Aram. RHE 23 The sons of Aram: Us, and Hull, and Gether; and Mes. NIV 23 The sons of Aram: Uz, Hul, Gether and Meshech. RHE 24 But Arphaxad begot Sale, of whom was born Heber. NIV 24 Arphaxad was the father of Shelah, and Shelah the father of Eber. RHE 25 And to Heber were born two sons: the name of the one was Phaleg, because in his days was the earth divided: and his brother’s name Jectan. NIV 25 Two sons were born to Eber: One was named Peleg, because in his time the earth was divided; his brother was named Joktan. RHE 26 Which Jectan begot Elmodad, and Saleph, and Asarmoth, Jare, NIV 26 Joktan was the father of Almodad, Sheleph, Hazarmaveth, Jerah, RHE 27 And Aduram, and Uzal, and Decla, NIV 27 Hadoram, Uzal, Diklah, RHE 28 And Ebal, and Abimael, Saba, NIV 28 Obal, Abimael, Sheba, RHE 29 And Ophir, and Hevila, and Jobab. All these were the sons of Jectan. NIV 29 Ophir, Havilah and Jobab. All these were sons of Joktan. RHE 30 And their dwelling was from Messa as we go on as far as Sephar, a mountain in the east. NIV 30 The region where they lived stretched from Mesha toward Sephar, in the eastern hill country. RHE 31 These are the children of Sem according to their kindreds and tongues, and countries in their nations. NIV 31 These are the sons of Shem by their clans and languages, in their territories and nations. RHE 32 These are the families of Noe, according to their people and nations. By these were the nations divided on the earth after the flood. NIV 32 These are the clans of Noah's sons, according to their lines of descent, within their nations. From these the nations spread out over the earth after the flood.
