Genesis 6

CEB 1 When the number of people started to increase throughout the fertile land, daughters were born to them. They will live one hundred twenty years." NIV 3 Then the LORD said, "My Spirit will not contend with man forever, for he is mortal; his days will be a hundred and twenty years." CEB 6 The LORD regretted making human beings on the earth, and he was heartbroken. NIV 6 The LORD was grieved that he had made man on the earth, and his heart was filled with pain. CEB 7 So the LORD said, "I will wipe off of the land the human race that I've created: from human beings to livestock to the crawling things to the birds in the skies, because I regret I ever made them." NIV 7 So the LORD said, "I will wipe mankind, whom I have created, from the face of the earth--men and animals, and creatures that move along the ground, and birds of the air--for I am grieved that I have made them." CEB 8 But as for Noah, the LORD approved of him. NIV 8 But Noah found favor in the eyes of the LORD. CEB 9 These are Noah's descendants. In his generation, Noah was a moral and exemplary man; he walked with God. NIV 9 This is the account of Noah. Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked with God. CEB 10 Noah had three sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth. NIV 10 Noah had three sons: Shem, Ham and Japheth. CEB 11 In God's sight, the earth had become corrupt and was filled with violence. Eliphaz's sons were Teman, Omar, Zepho, Gatam, and Kenaz. NIV 11 Now the earth was corrupt in God's sight and was full of violence. CEB 12 God saw that the earth was corrupt, because all creatures behaved corruptly on the earth. Timna was the secondary wife of Eliphaz, Esau's son, and she gave birth to Amalek for Eliphaz. These are the sons of Esau's wife Adah. NIV 12 God saw how corrupt the earth had become, for all the people on earth had corrupted their ways. CEB 13 God said to Noah, “The end has come for all creatures, since they have filled the earth with violence. CEB 15 This is how you should make it: four hundred fifty feet long, seventy-five feet wide, and forty-five feet high. NIV 15 This is how you are to build it: The ark is to be 450 feet long, 75 feet wide and 45 feet high. CEB 16 Make a roof for the ark and complete it one foot from the top. Put a door in its side. In the hold below, make the second and third decks. NIV 16 Make a roof for it and finish the ark to within 18 inches of the top.
