Isaiah 1:11-17

NLT 11 "I am sick of your sacrifices," says the LORD. "Don't bring me any more burnt offerings! I don't want the fat from your rams or other animals. I don't want to see the blood from your offerings of bulls and rams and goats. NIV 11 "The multitude of your sacrifices-- what are they to me?" says the LORD. "I have more than enough of burnt offerings, of rams and the fat of fattened animals; I have no pleasure in the blood of bulls and lambs and goats. NLT 12 Why do you keep parading through my courts with your worthless sacrifices? NIV 12 When you come to appear before me, who has asked this of you, this trampling of my courts? NLT 13 The incense you bring me is a stench in my nostrils! Your celebrations of the new moon and the Sabbath day, and your special days for fasting -- even your most pious meetings -- are all sinful and false. I want nothing more to do with them. NIV 13 Stop bringing meaningless offerings! Your incense is detestable to me. New Moons, Sabbaths and convocations-- I cannot bear your evil assemblies. NLT 14 I hate all your festivals and sacrifices. I cannot stand the sight of them! NIV 14 Your New Moon festivals and your appointed feasts my soul hates. They have become a burden to me; I am weary of bearing them. NLT 15 From now on, when you lift up your hands in prayer, I will refuse to look. Even though you offer many prayers, I will not listen. For your hands are covered with the blood of your innocent victims. NIV 15 When you spread out your hands in prayer, I will hide my eyes from you; even if you offer many prayers, I will not listen. Your hands are full of blood; NLT 16 Wash yourselves and be clean! Let me no longer see your evil deeds. Give up your wicked ways. NIV 16 wash and make yourselves clean. Take your evil deeds out of my sight! Stop doing wrong, NLT 17 Learn to do good. Seek justice. Help the oppressed. Defend the orphan. Fight for the rights of widows. NIV 17 learn to do right! Seek justice, encourage the oppressed. Defend the cause of the fatherless, plead the case of the widow.
